The Reality of Womanhood

It’s hard being a teenage girl

It’s you against the world

They say protect your daughters,

But what about your sons

Tell them what’s right and what’s wrong

You tell us to have a flat stomach and thick thighs

But not too thick it’ll turn off the guys

And you think what we wear is an invitation

When it’s a little revealing

Young girls sexualized everyday

Covering up their bodies

And you say rape is bad

But is it really

When you don’t do shit to help it go away freely

When a girl walks alone outside at night

Does she feel safe?

No she’s think about how to get home without getting ambushed, abused, and raped

And yet men say women should earn less, but how can that be true

You came from a woman, She raised you

Constantly women are getting hit

With the harsh words of the world we live in

Yet we still put a smile on our face

Take care of our families

Go to work everyday

It’s hard being a woman let alone a teenage girl

Where all you think is how can i fit into the standards

Do better

Look prettier

Enough i say

Someone has to speak up and today is the day

Think about how it would be like to live a woman's life day by day

Treat her with kindness and respect

And don’t let her eyes get to red

Cause it’s hard being a woman in this world

Cause a woman’s life is a blessing and a curse
